This privacy notice provides you with details of how we collect and process your personal data.
Brighton Breastfeeding is registered with the Information Commissioners Office and in accordance with the General Data Protection regulation (GDPR). Brighton Breastfeeding is a group of three independent practitioners, Zoe Faulkner, Charlotte Crisswell and Anouk Lloyd. In accordance with GDPR you must be informed what data will be requested from you, how the data will be processed or shared and what your rights are in relation to that data.

Appropriate measures have been taken to ensure your personal data is not lost, used or accessed in an unauthorised way, altered or disclosed. We will only retain your data for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes we collected it for, including for the purposes of satisfying any legal, accounting, or reporting requirements. By law, medical records about children must be stored for 25 years. For this we use a password protected laptop and encrypted memory sticks, stored securely.
Brighton Breastfeeding will only collect data from you that we need in order to provide a safe and effective service and for legal, contractual and legitimate reasons. Data may contain names, addresses, including email, medical history, NHS number, date of birth, birth and breastfeeding details. Further data will consist of assessment of you and your breasts, your baby, including weight and condition and a plan of care and content of relevant discussions between us. Photographs will also be included if you have consented to this.
Zoe, Charlotte and Anouk of Brighton Breastfeeding will record all information about you and your baby during contact via letter, face to face, telephone, text or social media. We may use this information to contact you again at a later date for audit, follow up or research. We take careful steps to ensure this information is secure, however social media, email, texts, website communication and messenger may not be secure. So please keep this in mind when using these methods.
Information may be shared with your GP or other health professionals, with your consent. For example, treatment for Thrush. If we have concerns regarding the safety of your child or children we have a legal obligation to share this to the relevant agencies, without your consent.
In the case of any complaint by yourself, your data would be shared, with your consent , with our relevant legal team.
Your data will not be used for marketing purposes or sold on to any other businesses.

You do not have to pay to access your data. We will always share via email copies of your records on request. You do not have to pay a fee to access your data.
